About Stella Gemmell. Stella Gemmell is the author of The Immortal Throne and The City. She has a degree in politics and is a journalist. She was married to the internationally acclaimed and bestselling fantasy novelist David Gemmell and worked with him on his three More about Stella Gemmell. Stella Gemmell returns with the paraquel-sequel(?) to THE CITY with THE IMMORTAL THRONE. (I had to Google "paraquel" to find out that the term I wanted was paraquel.) I quite loved THE CITY, even though it's darker than my normal fare, and I admit I waxed poetic about it. Well, I'm here to wax poetic a second time. 'The Immortal Throne While Stella Gemmell writes in the same genre as David Gemmell did, it would be unfair to compare them. Stella has a lighter touch with the female characters but in no way does she ever become sentimental. The situations they find themselves in are just as difficult as those of them men.
